Does anyone know why the US version of the new XPS 13 is listed as having a 5500u CPU (when configured with both 256GB and 512GB SSD), but the UK version has a 5 600u CPU when configured with a 256GB SSD and a 5 500u when it has a 512GB SSD?

    Why the discrepency?

Can anyone with an i7 in the US confirm that you only get the 5500u and not the 5600u?

    Thanks!

There are two i7/256GB SSD models in the UK, one comes with the i7 5500U and the Dell wireless card while the other one comes with the i7 5600u and the Intel wireless card. I can't see any i7 5600u option in the US, I suspect it's offered for business users as the 5600u supports a couple of enterprise features the 5500u doesn't and the Intel card is more standard which makes producing builds from similar machines easier.

    Thanks for the reply

It's confusing, don't they think us folks in the US would use it as a primary business tool? Bizarre

I don't understand it either as I assumed the US machines must have the option somewhere but perhaps differently to the UK but I can't find it if it's there. I don't really understand in general Dell's approach with the XPS 13 rollout, it's frustrating in the UK we get so few options as I may have kept my XPS 13 if I'd been able to have a 1080p screen rather than the QHD+ screen which is a pain for the scaling issues.
