Hello, everybody!
There was a discussion on this subject before but I can't find it. Currently I own XPS 1330 with nVidia GPU and LED screen. My GPU died a while ago, was replaced. After that I applied copper mod. But it will die some time in future again. So I'm thinking to replace my mobo with one that has integrated GPU. It is possible?

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
You should be able to install the IGP motherboard without a problem. All the connectors and such should fit without any modification. I can't imagine Dell using different parts other than the mobo in the dedicated and IGP versions of the M1330.

You will have to get a new mobo. If it dies again remove the copper mod and tell dell you want a mobo with integrated graphics.

Commander Wolf, but why there is no config with LED screen and IGP?
Kris Leisten, my warranty has already expired -

u need to change to the heatsink thats suitable for the intergrated graphics mobo, too.

mind if i askd when did u get ur 1330? and when did u get the replacement? they say replacements from october should be fixed...

JAV1563, mine was bought in feb 08. Mobo was replaced in dec 08. It was an A01 revision and I don't know what revision they've put inside. Some say about different GPU editions (some numbers on a chips differs), but they die the same way. Where have you found info about fixes?

they say everything after october have been fixed... that nvidia switched to a different solder... i got a replacement in december aswell... because of high temps... the gpu never got t brake... although it was running at 100 c for two months.... neve died.. so they replaced it cause the temps... and i google about 8600m gt... 8600m gt problems, 8600m problems.... and u read around some forums and pages.... where u find the info about switching solder in the chips.... and more...

JAV1563, I would be only glad to have it fixed. But I'm not sure as there is no proff whether I received one with a new soldier or with an old one. And I don't have any will to check it with temperature. But thanks, I'll try to find some more info.
