Ok after 3 days of using the 1340 I just realized the button on the top panel that you can use to increase/decrease volume stopped working. I had updated the latest drivers from Dell site but not sure if that is the reason.
Also non of the other buttons that are for DVD work either. And I know they were working when I got the laptop and only thing I have done is update with latest drivers.

Also I noticed I do not have WIFI toggle button on the base of the screen panel where DVD buttons are. The manual show a WIFI button there but I cannot find it there. I thought 1340 does have a WIFI toggle button. Where is it?

The wifi button is the antenna tower on the far left of the touchpads at the top.

Try turning off the computer, pulling out the battery, and hold the power button for 10-15sec, that's supposed to clear any electrical charge in the laptop and will reset the buttons at the top (they are sometimes overwhelmed by static electricity)

OK did that it worked. Thanks!!
Just very disappointed in DELL. XPS is supposed to be their premier line and it suffers from this kind of silly issues. I am sure they have lost tons of customers because of this type of issues.

Heat is another big issue on this lappy that make it kind of a desktop with cooler as requirement.
