The one thing I have yet to figure out is if there is a way to permanantly keep the backlight on the keyboard turned on. I know that having it shut off while not in use(aka toggle on/off) will save battery life but I'd like to have the option to keep it permanantly on as it gets old having it shut off while using it in the dark, especially when I'm using an external mouse and not the touch pad. If anyone can help me out on this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

No body knows an answer to this question? Looks like the XPS 14 crowd aren't all that active I guess..... :(

press winkey + x and fiddle with the backlit settings in there, if the option for time isnt there look in the quickset folder in program files for an exe that should let you change it. If you want the settings to stay permanent then make sure quickset is running on startup, winkey + r, type msconfig enter, startup

+Rep JKleiss! Thank you, when you go into mobility settings using the win+x you have to click on the icon for the keyboard backlight and you can change the amount of time til it turns off for anywhere from 1 minute to never off. Thanks man!
