I'm curious what other owners with the 9550 FHD model are getting in terms of actual battery life.
I have the FHD, 512 GB SSD, 16 GB RAM, 84 Whr battery configuration. With brightness on 50% and doing light web surfing, I'm able to get around 6.5 hours on a full charge. Fan is off. I'm updated to the latest BIOS and Intel HD graphics drivers as well.
The reason I ask is because The Verge's latest review of the 4K model ( http://www.theverge.com/2016/2/2/10888636/dell-xps-15-review-windows-10) mentions being able to get between 5 and 6.5 hours. My battery life for the FHD model seems short in comparison.

Did you reset your BIOS settings after updating? Some people reported differences in battery runtime after doing so. -
Where could I do so?
-
Haha, i'd kill for 6.5 hours on a charge.
I have FHD/i5/512GB 950Pro/8GB/56Whr model. I'd be lucky if i get 4 hours on a single charge just surfing the web with watching videos here and there.
I am still waiting for the 84Whr battery part to come in stock. I'll be swapping my 56Whr battery out. I'd consider anything over 6 hours pretty damn good for a non 4k model. -
