I am deciding between
Shin-Etsu MicroSi G751
and
Arctic Silver 5
Which do you think is best for the l502x? I read as5 is not that great on this system. Hows G751?
-
Shin-Etsu X23-7783D is what I repasted my cpu and gpu with. AS5 is great backup but there are better pastes out there.
-
it doesnt matter, any aftermarket paste will suit your needs fine. Only if you apply it and let it cure properly.
Edit: I dont know why people bash AS5 so hard on these forums, the amount of difference you see with other pastes is 2-3 degrees max. I dont think they let it cure long enough or apply too much. -
Can i suggest Prolimatech PK-1
Prolimatech PK-1, Arctic Silver Matrix, and Cooler Master IceFusion | Skinnee Labs
PK-1 Thermal Compound | Prolimatech
This paste perform very nearly to Indigo Xtreme (Indigo Xtreme can not be used in laptop because doesn't exist right format).
This Paste is not corrosive like liquid metal, Non-electronically conductive and in not expensive. -
hey what do you mean by "indigo xtreme" cannot be used in laptops?? what right format are you talking about? Mind throwing some light upon it?? I am looking forward to indigo for my xps 15 L501x
-
Indigo extreme isn't a paste, it's a metal alloy which fills the gaps when it melts.
-
oO..metal inside laptop's internals..can't imagine
.thanks for the explaination man..i was really wanting indigo xtreme after those awesome comparisions (it was better than tx4)
-
I used OCZ Freeze Extreme, and am quite satisfied with the result.
-
I used MX-4 and dropped temps by over 10C from stock Dell paste job.
-
Another vote for Shin-Etsu X23-7783D.
Doesn't need to settle after so-many hours to achieve max performance and is super easy to apply. -
Shin-Etsu X23-7783D. vs tuniq tx2 vs tuniq tx4 vs ICD7..what would be your take if price ain't concern?
-
I use tuniq tx2 whith copper thermal pad on NB and VGA RAM, -9C on heat, and -4C on idle.
Max temp on BF3 (4 hours) cpu 70, VGA 68/
Max temp on FurMark (10 min) VGA 76 -
I heard shin etsu makers are the ones who make the themal pads that dell sticks on our laptops!
