The sub on my XPS 15 isn't working so the sound is pretty poor. Is there any way to test the sub? Is my only option a replacement?

Run the DELL diagnostic tool (F12 during boot and select diagnostic). Go to custom and select audio option which will test the sub and others.

Cheers, the test was helpful in that I couldn't hear the sub at all, so there's clearly a problem with it. Have reported it to Dell, will see what they do.

Pop off the bottom cover and see if the connector is connected.

Thanks, have just tried that and the cable (black and red one) that leads from the direction of the sub to the motherboard is connected. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting but still doesn't work.
