Also found this forum ... as I am a proud owner of the new XPS15 Haswell but sadly enough also having problems with system.
    Concerning connectivity ...

Wireless 2.4Ghz 802.11gn works fine but the 5Ghz 802.11a doesn't. The 5G connects fine but with limited connectivity and therefore no access to internet nor the router in my network. According to Dell the problem is:

    - Windows 8.1 and drivers: well, got the latest one, V16.5.3.6 which is not even available on the support website
    - McAfee Internet security: Maybe remove it and test again
    - My Asus RT-AC66U router that could not be W8.1 compatible. Updated already to the latest version, other devices connect.

Last resort is a full reinstall of the XPS system. Drastic, so before doing that I want to check if someone has the same problem?
Any feedback what exacty the issue is ... and hopefully a resolution?

    Thanks

    Dit some additional testing

Set the wireless 5G completely open (no security), and it all worked fine.
Tried another security config on the router

Was this config and didn't work:
    WPA-personal
    AES

But this config works fine ... for now ;-)
    WPA-auto-personal
    TKIP+AES

If it changes, I'll let you all know.

    Thanks.

I did not have any problems connecting to an Asus AC-66 using firmware 3.0.0.4.374_979 with WPA2 Personal-AES authentication.

The XPS connects typically at 650-866 Mbps and transfers data between 30-50 Megabyte/s. The AC 7260 driver version is 16.5.3.6.

Well, had to switch back to the 2.4Ghz wireless. Just don't understand why it suddenly doesn't work anymore.
Is there some specific setting on the router, wireless adapter on the XPS ... or is McAfee doing stuff?
Very strange behaviour!! Any suggestions are welcome.

Another update ... seeing no response in here, seems I'm alone with this problem.

Anyway ... The 5G connect works fine for a couple of days after I deactivated the ethernet network adapter. Today all worked fine ... until this afternoon, no more internet access on the 5G. Connected again via the 2.4Ghz wireless, all back working again. So I just updated the 7260 drivers with the drivers on the wiki page. Update the drivers with the exe-file wireless_16.6.0_e64 from intel directly resulting in V16.6.0.8 from date 14/10/2013.

Switching back to the 5G connection and all works fine again. Impossible to put my finger on the issue!
Am I alone with this? Any suggestions? Anyone?

    Thanks,
    Lambert.

I'm actually having the same issues! I've factory reset my XPS 15 and reinstalled windows but the connectivity still becomes limited after a few seconds of connecting! I'm pretty sure the router is fine becuase I connected to the 5ghz with my Surface 2 and it works fine. It's really annoying because the 5ghz is 18x faster!

    Lamberbee,

Im running the exact same spec and setup as you actually replaced my RT-N66 to the AC68U yesterday night, not experienced any issues. The router is not affecting your platforms ie windows 8.1

Make sure your router is running the latest firmware and make sure your wifi adapter is running latest. Wouldnt bother with a system reinstall just yet, go into Network and Sharing centre and delete any old networks that you have previously added. Let me know if your not sure where this is.

Definitely remove Mcafee does nothing for your system. Use windows defender preinstalled and malware bytes pro.

Ive connected no problems got a XPS 9530.

Install the intel drivers from intel.
