Has anyone with the 4K screen notice that colors feel extremely "blocky"?

at 1:49, I couldn't help but notice that the colors in the background is extremely "blocky."

I compared 9550's screen to my $100 Full HD monitor from AOC, and realized that my cheap monitor has much "smoother" color change in gradating backgrounds.

I can't believe my $2000 laptop is having this kind of issue. Please help!

Funny I was just watching this video 5 minutes ago. Mine doesn't look like that at all. Video looks smooth and super HD. Make sure it's actually playing in 4k, and you'll probably need to calibrate the display, gamma seems way out of whack. Having said that it's normal to see a bit of blocking in digital video from the encoding, especially in gradients or fast motion. Pull up a high resolution image and see if you still have banding.

I had to turn down my saturation for the colors to look normal, it was way over saturated. Used the preinstalled Intel Graphics settings for now.

    Hey thanks for the input!

I didn't know that this was called banding. I did more research on reddit and found the solution.

Apparently the Dell PremiereColor software causes banding in Microsoft Signature Edition XPS 15.

Which is weird, but I uninstalled it. The screen looks a lot better now.

In my case uninstalling premiere not only didn't fix the issue but actually made it just worse. I think a little banding might be unavoidable

    OP here.

After uninstalling premiere, I noticed that the problem reoccurred!

I fixed it by roll-backing the HD530 driver from 4390 to 4331, which I found here.

I am unsure how or why premiere becomes a factor in this issue, but I keep it uninstalled.

Could you take a snap of that exact moment in the video?

If you can't find a solution the banding issue, perhaps doing a clean install would not be a bad idea.
