Hi, my self-upgraded NVme XPS 15 can't seems to sleep or hibernate. Always seems to be booting when it's supposed to be resumed from sleep/hibernate. It also occasionally (40% of the time) unable to boot into Windows but always fine with another reboot. Something to do with laptop not detecting the SSD.
Maybe the SSD driver not the most appropriate one?
Had found a few on the forums incliding samsung NVme v1.1 but nothing seems to change anything

Did you disable the sata ports in your BIOS? If so re-enable them...

Are you running bios .19? If so, did you reset bios settings to factory default?
Sometimes windows is weird and disabling and re-enabling hibernate fixes issues. -
yeah, just updated to latest BIOS yet still the same. I will try the above suggestions

I get bsod often when waking from sleep, no bsod at any other time though. Running 950 pro with Samsung nvme driver and all latest drivers from dell. I will try removing the Intel Rapid Storage Technology, maybe that helps.
Is your mvme drive operating at 4x link? Mine appears to be locked atx1 -
how do you check the PCIE lane status?

Have you follwed the instructions on the first post of the thread 'List of Hardware and Software Problems'? After removing the Intel RST driver from dell and manually installing the AHCI driver I havent had any more bsod after waking it from sleep.
edit: I spoke too soon, just had a BSOD when waking from sleep. I will trying rolling back to the driver to 01.01.15 and see if that helpsLast edited: Feb 23, 2016Fant likes this. -
I have the same problem that after going to sleep it reboots instead of waking up, did you manage to solve this issue?
Although it happens to me only when on battery, no idea what to do.
Did fresh reinstall and using in AHCI mode solved it or not? -
Then, during the process, the problem somehow was gone. Here is what I did:
Remove the nvme ssd
Install the sata ssd and boot, try sleep on battery, OK
Re install the nvme ssd and boot from it, try sleep on battery, OK
Remove the sata ssd, then boot and try sleep on battery, still OK
To me, the problem seemed solved by reinstall the nvme ssd.
Anyone else who has the same problem can try this before you blame bios or softwareLast edited: Jul 4, 2017 -
Look in the event viewer, it will have entries logged relating to the issue.
