Hi everyone, I just bought a XPS 15 with the i7-2630QM processor, I just received it yesterday and I used it for about 3 hours and it just went off.... Now it doesn't start up like theres no power... the light on the power cord lights up when I connect it to a socket but right after I connect to the laptop it turns off, any suggestions? anything would help because I am very far from the US to return it or get it fixed...

If you didn't spill anything on it or drop it, sounds like a bad motherboard.

    I would:

    - Test your AC adapter with a multimeter

    - Use a known good 90 watt or 130 watt Dell AC adapter

    - Remove the battery and AC adapter and hold down the power button for 30 seconds 2-3 times.

After doing all that, sounds like a possible power circuitry issue with your motherboard. Since it is new I would just return it to Dell or exchange it for another one..

My XPS 15 mobo/cpu failed on me in the middle of midterms in the spring, as soon as they fixed it (next day support took a month, ridiculous), I sold it on Craigslist.
    Garbage.

Also there is another problem for me, I purchased mine in late May, now the 21days for return is almost running out because I had to get it shipped all the way out here and now I have to ship it back so will this affect the 21 day return policy thing even though it's a factory defect?

Ask Dell about that one, you'll have to arrange something with them anyway.

    What country are we talking?

Do let us know what's up.

I'm a penny pincher, but it's a great product and if you got it on a deal, a great price.

You got a warranty, so worst case should be a replacement.
