Dudes - the service tech messed something up on my computer when he came out to replace the bezel he busted when replacing my screen. When POSTing - the speaker beeps non-stop and the fan blows full bore. I ran the dell hw diagnostic and it reports that the cpu thermistor and other thermistor report 0' - out of range, so my guess is that's why the fan is defaulting to 100%.. but it's noisey and until it gets fixed, I want to try to find a way to override it - any ideas? I looked at the speedfan program, but there wasn't a way to choose fan speed with it.

I would request a replacement laptop, those "techs" are far from technical in my experience and it looks like this guy busted your bezel and then broke something on your motherboard!!
Kick up a fuss and request a replacement. That's what I would do!! -
Yeah - that's what I am going to try for - but I had a hold on my system because I didn't return the old system that this was a replacement for.... looooong sordid history... but it's on the way back now to get the hold removed from the service tag so hopefully we can get it fixed after they get it sorted out. Oh, how I love the tech support vs. customer "SERVICE" battle they get to drag the customer through. There's hours of my life that are never coming back...
