    I have just purchased an XPS 15 (i5-560m, nvidia gt 420m, 4gb mem, 500gb HD, 1080p screen).

I thought I would run the Windows Experience Index. My lowest score was 4.4 for windows graphics. This was a bit lower than I was expecting. I was wondering if the low score is due to the high screen resolution that I have?

All the other scores were between 5.9 and 6.9.

your chip and gpu are slower than others, also depends what power settings you had and background programs were running. Did you check your task manager and shut everything non-essential down, before running the test?

If you have an i3 or i5, the Windows Aero graphics will use the integrated GPU. The gaming graphics uses the dedicated GPU.
