I think my subwoofer stopped working, it may have nothing to do with it but I Uninstalled the advanced audio fx engine by creative and suddenly it sounded bad. There is no way to reinstall that program its not on the dell site and the tech support said the software was most likely malware that got installed from the internet. Thing is this laptop is only a week old so I dont see that as the issue.

When I ran the dell support center and pc checkup it detected internal speakers and would crash. Then I reinstalled the real tek driver and the internal speakers option for testing was not there anymore.

Is there anyway to confirm it is being detected? It sounds very bad now and not like it used too. I can return it and scheduled a return since 2 out fo 3 of the techs I talked too kept thinking the subwoofer was a seperate device and not covered under warranty.

any help to adjust any settings or find that program I uninstalled to make the subwoofer work I would appreciate. thanks!

Now I notice I only hear highs mostly, the sub has sound coming out of ti but it sounds the same as the 2 speakers, so it seems to be acting like a third speaker instead of making the low tones it used too. anyone know this solution please before I return it thanks!

I see alot of people post songs to test and I do not hear any bass. All I hear are highs when I check songs like daft punk or others and no bass.

is there any tool to actually test if it is producing bass? application or program?
    there must be something

Yes I uninstalled rebooted and reinstalled the driver and have no effect on my subwoofer. Prior I had all the custom settings off and it sounded fine now if I raise them it sounds lioke it affects all the speakers and not the subwoofer.

I hear sound coming out but it sounds like the other speakers, is this normal?

Isnt there some kind of software I could use to specifically test that device?

Pop the bottom plate off and check the connection.

I am 99% sure it is connected it makes sound but it sounds like a lower version of the other two speakers

isnt there any way to get that software reinstalled called creative advanced audio fx engine?

its not on the resource cd or the website, and after installing the driver twice for sound its not in the wave maxx studio either.
