I have noticed before that when I am on battery I don't seem to be getting full HD when viewing a full HD video in media player. But when I plugged in AC power supply then I would get a full quality crystal clear picture.
This doesn't happen anymore and I can't seem to figure out how to get full quality again. Can anyone help me?
    I have a 1080p RGB LED screen.
    Thanks!!

go to power options, then click change plan settings, then click advanced power settings, then under "intel graphics power plan" change "on Battery" to high performance and see if that helps.

I have tried changing both 'on battery' and 'plugged in' to maximum performance but still missing that extra quality I used to get?

Define "extra quality". I assume you are talking about using the Nvidia card over the INTEL one. So just set your power options to "high performance".

    I hope this helps!
