    Hi,

I bought a B156HW01 v.0 panel and have fitted it to my XPS 15 which previously had the AUO 720p panel installed.
The connector and screw holes all line up perfectly, it is installed and powers on, HOWEVER, the screen appears to display every other vertical line of pixels in white. I am hoping that this is somehow an adjustable setting than I can change in the display driver. Does anyone have any suggestions for me to try?

    Thank you

Sounds more like a hardware problem than a software one. Did you double check that all the cable connections to the new panel are fully seated?

Yes, I have tried re-seating the cable a few times.
I have a nasty feeling that I'm going to have to give up on this panel.

Someone had a similar problem on changing out a screen on a XPS L701X. They installed modified graphic drivers drivers and the screen worked. You might give that a try.

    Paul,

I had the same problem with the same panel on my Dell XPS 15. If the modified drivers work, please let me know.

    Sadly, it doesnt work.
I am a bit gutted about this.
I guess it has to be the V.4 panel.

If it is a cable issue, where can we purchase a cable that works with the l501x and the 1080p screen? It would not surprise me if Dell decided to use a cheaper cable with only the wires needed for the 720p screen.
