Hello,
Is the sata connection in the new XPS 15 SATA II or SATA III?

SATA 3 became the standard years ago

While it became a standard, are you sure that is the type in the XPS 15? I read last years model was only SATA II but I can't seem to find anything in the specs section of Dell's web page.
This is from the manual but I'm not sure what it means - is the standard SATA cable 3Gbps and the M.2 6? As far as I can see there are only 2 drive interfaces in this thing - one for m.2 and one for standard sata - Not sure why it lists the II and III speeds.

And according to the reference guide, the previous XPS also used SATA III, as expected: http://downloads.dell.com/Manuals/a..._laptop/xps-15-9530_Reference Guide_en-us.pdf
The idea of a new laptop using SATA II is practically unimaginable.
