Like a dingbat I decided to peel off my Energy Star sticker (because I don't like leaving well enough alone) and it left a perfect square of gooey adhesive behind. Has anyone tried Goo-Gone or other adhesive removers on their palmrest? I see it's been done on the Studios, but surely someone must have attempted this on the 15? The palmrest material seems durable enough, but i'd rather not try it and then regret it.

A wet rag took care of it, should have tried that first. FYI for anyone who does the same thing.

Be wary of Goo Gone, sometimes it can leave a nasty residue as bad as the adhesive it removes, also it stinks.

I find that the best way to remove computer stickers is to do so before the computer is ever powered up. I slide a guitar pick under a corner and gradually lift the sticker. If done slowly, it usually takes most or all of the adhesive with it.

If you wait until after the laptop has been used several times, the laptop's heat seems to set the adhesive more, making it much harder to remove cleanly.

I removed the Energy-Star sticker from my XPS 15, too, after it became icky and started to unglue itself.

A wet rag was enough to remove the adhesive, but it left an (almost imperceptible) mark which can only be seen with careful inspection.

I actually used some spray on deodorant to remove the residue - it is mostly alcohol and besides, it smells nice :)

Cleaned up afterwards with a gentle cleaning agent

just rub it with your finger, the friction will take it all off, worked with mine. I hate it when they put the stickers on so wonky.

Scotch tape works beautifully too. I'm not sure why, but you press it on, and all that residue peels right off with it... no liquids necessary, no scratches, etc. :)

Thanks for everyone's info. I ended up removing the other two stickers as well and they didn't leave anything behind. The stickers seem to be a love them or hate them kind of thing, but in my opinion the laptop looks so much sleeker and cleaner without them...

I put them to my desk instead, they have really good re-stick properties. :)

Eh I like them the only thing that bothers me is my ocd-ness and the stickers look like they were put on by a child ( you can see the issue there)

Anyways, from experience of removing warrenty stickers my advice use a hairdryer on low settings and just heat up the sticker like everyone said by using the computer. Rather then using the computer just use a hairdryer speeds up the process. Or you know play a few hours of skyrim

I aslo removed my energy star sticker! It was irritating, since it was skew...lol

EDIT: I just peeled it off, and used the friction of rubbing with my finger to get rid of the residue.
