Hey everybody,
My machine was dropped recently and thankfully it seems the HDD was the only casualty. There was no chance of salvaging it so I bought a new one and started over from scratch. Everything is working just about as well as usual, except for a few problems.
The 3 touch buttons have lost part or all of their functionality. The settings button offers fewer options, and the quick launch and waves maxxaudio buttons do nothing at all. In addition, when I press the volume and screen brightness keys there's no more on-screen display of their current levels. And each press of the volume keys only changes the level by 2%. Is this just software that was lost with the old hard drive, and can I get it back? I also don't get any pop-up when plugging in headphones/speakers.
Also, whereas I would previously get about 4-4.5 hours of battery life on a full charge, I only have a little over 2 hours to work with now, which is exceedingly inconvenient. Is there something I can do to fix this that I'm not thinking of? I'm fairly certain that the GPU isn't running, what else could there be?
Thanks for any help.

To get the volume and screen brightness to display make sure you install the quickset drivers. Just make sure all the drivers are installed properly.

Ah, thanks, searching QuickSet helped me find a page in the owners thread with all the relevant driver information. Everything seems to be in order with the buttons. Though the battery life is still horrendous...
