Notice the XPS 1530 "better" comes in at 1199 with 350 off...yet if you compare it against the "best" 619 off, it still looks like a better deal.
The 619 off starts 200 bucks higher, and forces you to take a 200gb 7200RPM instead of a 120 option and puts a 3 year vs 2 year warranty on the table. It also "throws in 3GB of RAM". So basically...if you want a 2 year, 120gb 7200 RPM, and 2GB (which is fine) the 1199 version of the DEAL seems better. Am I wrong?

Thanks to cpu guy for bringing this to my attn! -
Yeah I did use that in my cart...just havent ordered. I keep going back and forth between configurations, and Macbook PRO as well.
-
Obviously do not forget the 12% EPP discount.
-
And thanks for the 10% off coupon!
Also, are they all combinable? (all 3 offers) -
Does anyone know if you can go back and ask them to apply a discount to an already placed order? Mine was just confirmed shipped tonight and I had no clue about the EPP until after I had ordered. I'm positive my employer would qualify, but would I still be able to use my Dell Preferred account to pay for it? I suppose not if the whole idea is that you're going to use it for work? Or does that not matter? Geez maybe I should go read some fine print.. -

i am having the same debate but if you look at it the better is a better way to go. you can add 4gb of ram for under 50 bucks.
HOWEVER the best you only get the choice of 5400rpm drives and to upgrade to a 7200rpm drive is around 120-140 for a 120gb 7200rpm drive.
to me it seems better to just get the better and buy the ram after if u really want. -
For sure I would prefer to buy my RAM elsewhere. If worse comes to worse and you buy (2) 2GB sticks of XYZ RAM online for cheap, you can just sell your (2) 1GB sticks of Dell RAM on Ebay.

Do the "better" . Upgrade the warantee to 3 years. and upgrade the RAM by your self plus the discounts . you get better deal.
