    Hey Guys,

Got an issue with my XPS 1530, the slot load DVD won't accept dvd's or cd's anymore.

I'll stick it in and then it'll accept it, make a funny noise and spit it out again. I dunno if this is a common issue, but since it's been a while since I bought it so it's most likely not covered under warranty.

Does anyone know of a fix for this?

If not, I'm gonna go out and get an external Dvd drive today. If I have to reformat my HD can I do that with an external dvd drive? Is there an option for Dell's to boot from an external dvd?

    Thanks!
