    Hey All.
I was just wondering about the 1530s HDMI output and if it supports 5.1 sound.
I have been plugging it into my receiver (Sony STRDG820) and the sound will only come from the first two channels. Is there any way to get true 5.1 sound or does it not support it?

    Thanks

Try going to your Control Panel> Sound > HDMI (Digital Output) > Configure > And see if 5.1 Surround is an option in there and chose it.

I don't believe it outputs 5.1. Under properties mine lists 2 channels max. Could be software, not sure....

Yeah all the Drivers are up to date.
It uses SigmaTel High Definition Audio Codec for the HDMIs drivers, do you think a new codec would work?

    Thanks~

I'm curious to know if xps 1530 can deliver multichannel audio over the HDMI cable too. All I show are 2 channels = stereo. What a bummer.
