So im trying to put some pictures onto a CD, but it doesnt work. I was doing it just fine about a onth ago, but tryin to it now proves to be impossible. It just doesnt write anything. I tried to make a music CD and that also failed. I tried using all three types of writable CD's with the same result.

Any tips. What should i do?

Try CD Burner XP - which is free.

Don't worry about the name, if you're using Vista. It still works ;)

Is it not writing at all, or is it writing and you're getting failed disks? If you're getting failed disks, it might be the disks you're using.

So i just tried to use Roxia creator premier. I inserted a blank CD (CD-R) and choose to make a CD using Roxio media creator 9. I draged my picture file in to the indicated window and pushed the button to finalize and burn CD. The a window poped up telling me to instert a blank CD and that the one i just put in is not blank. Im 100% sure its blank. Pushing the eject button on the XPS media bar wonr make the CD eject so i have to go to MY computer, left click on the DVD RW-drive and select eject. The a small buble comes up sayig it i preparing disck to be ejected so it can be used on another computer. Now a windows comes out saying there was a problem ejecting the disk. The disks are brand new, Sony CD-R disks, picked a random one out of a spindle of 50. Is my drive busted?

Looks like a bad drive. I'd call dell support and get a new one.

Edit: Have you been having this problem since you bought the computer? Or is it a recent thing?
