Sorry if this question is asked too frequently... but what does XPS owner do. :p

Is there a way I can bring down GPU/CPU temps down, just a bit? Just browsing, and the temps are:

    Core temp
    MIN: 52C
    MAX: 57C

    GPU temp
    MIN: 64C
    MAX: 67C

I know not much but still it's hot!!!
I don't game much nowadays so those temps are irrelevant.
I heard applying thermal paste works? Should I?

    Any other tips/tricks?

Clean out the fan/vents/various inside bits with compressed air.

You wanna make sure you know what you're doing with thermal paste - if you apply it wrong you can cause short circuits etc etc. If you're confident you can do it, expect your temps to lower by 4-7 degrees, if memory serves. I'll see if I can find the cooling tutorial.

The first thing to do is clean the vents and fan regularly. This is the simplest and most important thing that anyone can do.

The next thing to do is undervolt the processor. This is slightly complicated (but not too much) and is all in software, so there's nothing to damage or go wrong.

The next thing is to change the thermal paste (on the CPU and GPU only, leave the themal pad on the Northbridge alone). It will likely have the smallest effect, and requires you to be careful/skillful. And it will void your warranty. So you might decide not to bother. But, still a lot of guys do it, every little helps. Just be sure to read and re-read the guide before doing anything - if you badly apply the thermal paste it could make temps go up instead of down.

A notebook cooler is also something you can use. In my experience, they only make a slight difference, but still, if you can get one cheap they are pretty handy to have.

Those temps seem normal, if you use flash video or alot of animated gifs on a page, it can cause a sudden short spike, stress test the computer and bring back the temps.

sure it would work but if your getting normal temps i wouldnt bother you might worsen it. (if it aint broke dont fix it.)

Copper mod will most likely void any warranty on the part... so I would avoid if all seems to be well
