Hi,
This has been discussed in a few threads but I cannot find anything on dell website. I tried the chat and the rep I talked to played dumb with me, saying he never heard of any problem with the graphic cards.
Could you guys tell me how I can figure out if the graphic card does have an extended warranty? Will I get any documentation mentioning it?
Thanks!

Call in. It should already be on your customer profile that you have a 1 year extended warranty. Ask the agent you speak with on the phone to confirm it with you.

Should I wait until I get the computer? I ordered it 2 days ago but there is no mention of the graphic card extended warranty on the email that has every detail of the order.
Is it possible that it would be somewhere in the documentation that comes with the computer? -
Please see the link posted in above post!XPS 1530 is part of that.
Look on your documentation, and check your specs..also.
Once you receive it..You should also call Dell and ask for email confirmation with a case number as backup!

I've heard the problem isn't as big of a deal on the 1530's as it is on the 1330's (which don't have adequate cooling for the GPU).

Great to hear. I read so much about heat problems. Is it related to people who actually heavily play games?

the actual problem is that the card material is impure..... frequent expansion+contraction would mean it is easier for the card to fail/crack, but it doesnt mean that someone who doesn't stress the GPU(eg gaming) wont have a bad GPU....
you could have a bad GPU, and it fails.... right now, or 3 years down the road
heat just makes it die faster.... thats why new bios updates turn on the fan with smaller temp rises -
well I just hope since I get mine only now that I get the updated BIOS and get lucky and get a good card.
