I am torn and thought I would ask the experts out there. I currently have the xps 1210 and like the small size of it, but I am ready for an upgrade.

I use it for work and am on the road a lot. SO I like the smaller size. However, I would like the beefier videocard of the 1530 and possibly a little bigger screen. I dont do much computer gaming, but that is becouse I have not been able to, I would also like a screen that I could read in the sun if possible.

    So questions:

    1. Is the 1530 a lot bigger then the 1330?

    2. WHich screen should I choose? The 1330 has two options and the 1530 has like 4 options.

I am torn. I have a coupon that is good starting June 3rd.....

    Thanks

    Doug

Agreed. For the sun a glossy screen is not the best option. Not taking that into account I'd ask if you travel a lot on airplanes. If yes than the 1330 would be best. If no than the 1530 would be best. I think 1530 in economy is too big to be comfortable.

Is there a big differance in the TOP graffic cards for the 1530 and 1330?

I wont use it much for flying.. all my work is local. I do like how the m1210 is not intemidating when I use it for work. I am in the medical field and have to use it in front of paitents......

Depends, the 8400 has its place in last generation games, and low low settings on new generation games. Search benchmarks, the 8600m GT on 1530 is offered with higher speed GDDR3 Ram, so make sure the benchmark takes that in.

The difference is very noticeable, or there would not be so many 1530s in gamers hands.

I had a similar quandry and went with the 1330 - no regrets - you can get a dell refurb for ~$1k (more or less depending on config). Light = money. Dedicated video card is fine for what you will be using it for, I can play WoW on mine with no problems. So unless you need to play the latest game at high settings (sounds like you don't) then go with the 1330. Forgot to mention DDR2 memory is dirt cheap, you can get 4GB for about $70.

same here, if you are searching power go for the 8600 with the 15.4" m1530 but if you prefer the 13.3" of the m1330 but you dont care about sacrificing the power that just a 8600 can offer go for the 8400

Yeh I am leaning towards the 13.3.... I do most of my gaming on my xbox360 and 60 inch anyways.....I use to be a huge computer gamer, but never kept upgrading to stay in the latest and greatest games.

One last question. Should I get the upgraded screeen on the 13.3????

    Thanks

    Doug

Okay on the 1530 there is 4 screen choices

What is the LED LCD and the HD LCD.... and which one is better or pro's and con's. Any better for sun light or look better on gaming?

Man now I am back to thinking about the 1530 over the 1330.... hehehehe

    Thanks

    Doug

The 8400M GS is about 1500 Marks lesser than a 8600M GT, and the 8600M GT is much more easier and better to OC

    Mild mobile gaming = m1330
Good performance mobile gaming = m1530
    extra mobility = m1330
hard to move around (college) = m1530

    Depends in what you want...

Def the M1530 far better imo for an all round machine, found another review of it here with a few upgraded bits and bobs.
