I am using it but I don't know what to tell you. I am even running Vista 64 bit and I didn't have any problems. I just went to configuration under messenger and it worked no problem.

Strange... I have been using mine without any problems or changes or special settings.. I just start up the messenger, start webcam and its been fine.

Can you please elaborate a little on when u started having this issue? Or did you do something else on ur laptop, at a system level, like reinstalling the software or similar?

CHEERS MAN! I think I erase some dell software that came with the xps like quickset ore some. but all the software for the webcam is still there.

But now that you said so, when I open one of the camera softwares it remains minimaize, and theres no way to maximaze it. Alt-tab or windows-Tab

I would suggest uninstalling completely and reinstalling again.. You must be having the webcam software CD that shipped with the system. Give it a try.

Ah....I had a similar problem while trying to webcam using MSN Messenger. All you have to do for that is go to Setup My Webcam....and it will ask you in one of the steps which device you want to use for the camera and microphone. For some reason, you might have more than one device appearing there and it might be the wrong one so you can check that.

What messenger are you trying to use? It might help to know.

ok then, then you probably conntected to the wrong device. go to messenger look for audio/video setup and point it to right device.

yes, I had that problem with my desktop and my TV tunner, you just have to pick the device you want to use in messenger settings.
