Hey guys, it looks like my XPS 1645 didn't come with a media remote like my old 1530 did. Is it possible to use the remote in the 1645? It looks like the SXPS does have an IR receiver so I would think that it would be, but I'm not sure what sort of software I would need or how that would work.

If your XPS 1530 originally came with the Express Card Travel Remote..then your system Exchange is supposed to come with one.

When, I received my XPS 1640 as a replacement for my XPS 1530 (I had 2 that came with my 1530). I was told to contact XPS Support & they would then ship out the Remote for my 1640 ~ I did, and it was overnighted to me. All they asked was that I send back one of my remotes for my 1530. :)

Contact Support & advise that you had a Remote that came with your original specs for your 1530 ~ and you should be getting one for your 1645. :)

Yes it does work. Just got my system replacement from the aging m1530 to a sparkly new SXPS 1640. =D

What you need to install is the drivers located HERE

Congrats on your new system ;D
