I would like to upgrade my m1530..
    1. HDD: which is better? 320GB 7200rpm / 500GB 5400rpm
    2. CPU: I can use only Penryn CPUs? also 1066 FSB?
    3. RAM: 800Mhz is waste of money?

    thanks ;)

    1) 320gb 7200rpm if you care about a small performance boost/500gb 5400 rpm if you need more space

2)you can use merom but stick to penryn its newer and has less heat output/better battery life.

    3) yes the chipset does not support 800mhz, there fore it would clock down to 667mhz and you wasted cash.

    1. All 320GB 7200RPMs are good. 500GB 5400RPM --> Samsung HM500LI; Hitachi 5K500 (might not fit), not good performance; WD5000BEVT, should be faster than 320GB 7200RPMs in R/W rates, but not confirmed.

    2. You can use any Merom/Penryn Socket P C2Ds. Penryn-Refresh (1066MHz FSB) CPUs are not compatible.

    3. DDR2-800 RAM will downclock to DDR2-667 (both frequency and timings). Depends upon which you can get cheaper. Higher frequency RAM gives you some room to overclock the FSB.

ok, so I must have a look on something like X9000, T9300, T9500...

about HDD.. is there serious performance difference between 5400rpm and 72000rpm?
