    Hi!

I have recently tested my XPS 1530 (T9300 2.5GHz) through several benchmarks. RAM, VGA and HDD perfarmance is almost identical to similar notebooks while CPU's benchmarks are nearly half.

Does anyone know what the problem is? Is it something about BIOS or O/S configurations, or it is a hardware defect?

I'd suggest down loading ThrottleStop from my sig and then check the log file option. Upload the log file ThrottleStopLog.txt to MediaFire and then post a link in the ThrottleStop Guide thread that is also in my sig. The mods are hoping all ThrottleStop discussions end up in the new thread.

It's nothing unusual for some Dell laptops to randomly throttle the CPU. Go do some gaming or load your CPU with Prime95 or wPrime and then the log file will show you if your CPU is running at full speed or if it is being throttled.

    Thank u.

My laptop stopped working just an hour after my first post. It doesn't start now. I think RAM or CPU is dead. I fear it may be HDD.
When I press the power button, after the primary light dance on media buttons, and a low noise from HDD and then DVD drive (in which a DVD is stuck), nothing happens : nothing on screen, no sound. after a while HDD and DVD are working and then silence.

*** My previous post was due to a post with the text above was re-sent three times. surprisingly, none of them exists now!
