    XPS 15z Hard Drive Replacement

    I have to replace the HDD in my laptop but dell has none available. The model is ata wdc wd7500bpkt-7 scsi 750 GB, Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Any 2.5" SATA drive will work. It will accept either a 7mm or 9.5mm height drive.

    I'd actually suggest you take this opportunity to upgrade to an SSD. It will literally make your laptop feel like a new, speedy machine, and extend the useable life of that machine by at least 18-24 months.

    I'd suggest you get a Samsung 850 EVO 500GB capacity. Right now, that's the best bang-for-your-buck in terms of speed, capacity, and price.

    Oh. And if you want an idea of how much improvement an SSD can give, check out some of the videos in my signature. I'd bet that the laptop I used in that (made in 2007) could outperform a Dell XPS 15z running a mechanical HDD... Especially in some of the mass-application-loading torture tests. SSDs make that much of a difference.
