    Hey all,

Thinking about getting this cooler for my XPS 16. About $35-40 shipped. I've read alot of great reviews on it, and it seems to be the best cooler for use in various locations like when sitting on the bed, on the sofa, on my lap...etc.

I'm wondering if there are any XPS 16 owners who have used this, and can confirm that it significantly reduces the heat of the XPS 16 and, specifically, the spot under the touchpad.

    Thanks!

    Joe

I have been using it for about 2 weeks now and am really happy with it. It hardly produces any noise whatsoever even with the fan set at highest speed. BUT, it does not really reduce the temp of the spot neat the touchpad, although it does reduce the motherboard, core and GPU temps. I think that I may be getting a hotter than usual touchpad because ambient temperatures in New Delhi nowadays are around 35-40 degrees Celsius.

All in all, it is a great buy.

Well, it does over shoot the sides by about 2-2.5cm on each side, but it really doesn't seem that significant. It has decreased my idle internal temps by about 5-7 degrees celcius and gaming temps by about 15 degrees celcius. Earlier, while gaming, the gpu temp used to go upto about 75-80 degrees celcius, now it maxes at about 60-65 degrees. This is considering the fact that the ambient temp i use the notebook in hovers from 30-40 degrees celcius.

Whenever i have it turned on I hardly ever feel the heat, during normal usage I have it on low and during gaming on high. Its a must buy for SXPS 1640.
