    Does anyone know the part number/manufacturer for the XPS 16's 128gb SSD. I just bought the 1645 with it and would like more info when I present the computer as a gift for xmas.

    I did a search before and nothing turned up! Sorry if I am bringing up an old question. Actually searching that thread with the "thread search" link for "128" and "ssd" and "samsung" turned up nothing.

    Are you sure there is info in the thread?

    I asked a Dell tech and they said it might even be a Toshiba.

    They're not Toshiba. They're all Samsung, it's just a matter of which one. I think it's probably a 128GB version of the PB22-J now, but it's possible that it's still based on the older RBX controller. I think you're better off buying the SSD aftermarket, if you want to be sure what you're getting.

    Gee I hope it is like the PB22-J that was a pretty good drive! Guess I must be the only person to order it with the 128gb drive. I will have to help inform everyone about what I receive.
