    XPS 1640 Throttling problem.( if Dell fix this to? )

    Everywhere talked only 1645 throttling problem and dell fix 1645 and so on.. If Dell fix 1640 throttling problem to?

    xps 16 not being a gaming machine has been brought up many times with the 1645 discussions, from reps etc. It would seem if it truely wasnt meant for gaming, then the marketing department at dell needs to be informed.

    Reality it doesnt matter if it were or not. People pay a premium for the hardware in these laptops, to have them limited by power bringing it down to the level of lesser laptops is outright.

    The lowering the brightness increasing the FPS does indeed correlate to the 1645's bios throttling for power. And would suggest multiplier throttling, as that is usually goes hand in hand with lower fps (and the first mode of throttling). I would use throttlestop's logging features to give hard numbers/proof to help your inquiries etc. Logging multipliers and modulation, will tell you exactly whats going on.
