I heard that for XPS 17 (L702X) with 3D option, it does not allow us to use Intel Wireless Display Technology. I would like to know if it is true? Has anyone with XPS 17 (L702X) with 3D option be successfully configure it to use with Intel Wireless Display Technology?

    I have bought myself Netgear Push2TV PTV2000)
    Thanks ALL,

    Lamk

Nope, the 3D screen system disables all the goodies of the Sandy Bridge chips aside from turbo boost: no Optimus, no WI-DI (which is wireless display) and no quick sync I believe either. The problem is that such a system permanently bypasses the Intel graphics, and the Intel graphics are what are used for WIDI.

Is that mean that my system will operate slower because it has 3D option? (Even though when 3D option is disabled during normal use)

Slower? How do you mean? The CPU itself is completely unaffected by the bypass, it is only the graphics portion of the Intel that is skipped. If you meant lower graphics performance, no, not in non-stereoscopic mode (basically, not 3D). The two cards don't work together like an SLI or Crossfire configuration, it is an either-or as to which is used in Optimus. Non-3D performance in games or the like will be identical, and in 3D mode the framerates will be exactly 1/2 (since the GPU has to render 2x the frames-one per eye).

To simply answer this as madmattd said before.

Intel Wireless Display isn't supported or available for XPS 17 (L702X) 3D model.
