    Hi everybody,

I'm looking into getting the new Dell XPS 17 3D laptop. I really want a matte screen on my laptop. What kind of screen is on it? glossy or matte? Under "Help me choose" has an option for an 17.3" 3-D Capable FHD (1920x1080) WLED Display which has a antiglare screen-matte and a 17.3" FHD (1920x1080) WLED Display which has a Truelife screen-glossy.

This is really confusing because the only choice I can select is the 17.3" FHD (1080p) 3D Display with 2.0MP HD Webcam.

What screen do you have on your XPS 17 3D L702x?

The screen that came with my setup is glossy. I think that it is required for the 3D to work but someone with more knowledge can confirm.

    Thanks

Has anybody got the 17.3" 3-D Capable FHD (1920x1080) WLED Display which has a antiglare screen for their XPS?

It is glossy, period. Only the business laptops sport non-glossy screens.

I think someone said they opened their screen up and cut the glossy out; apparently there's a matte screen underneath. I wouldn't be so brave with mine, but just thought you should know

They might be coming out with a 1080p matte screen that's not 3D. They are offering that option now in Australia.
