Someone in one of my classes has a M1710 that had the power adapter go bad - I guess he needs to charge the battery to get some files off of it.
I have a 1520 and 1420 (use the same power adapter). I know the my two laptops use the same adapter as the 1530 and 1330 ... what about the M1710, does it use the same adapter?

i think the m1710 needs a 120watts adapter a 65 or 90 watts will not cut it

I have used a 90 watt on a 1710 (caveat: I have not tried to power one when the battery is completely dead). The 90 watt adapter will power it, but you will get a message stating that it will not perform at optimum.
If I recall, it will charge the battery, but not while powered up, and it will take forever.
