Hey folks, got my 1730 the other day and I have a t8300 2.4ghz processor in there with 4gb of ram (actually 3gb is detected because its windows 32-bit), and dual 9800m gt cards in sli.

I ran 3d mark 06 and i'm only getting about 10700 which is fairly low in comparison to my 7811fx which has only one 9800m gts and gets 9300 on 3dmark 06.
Shouldn't my 1730 be doing 14000 out of the box? I have enabled sli in Nvidia control panel and am working with stock Nvidia drivers 179.24.

How do I get my scores higher, this is lower than I expected from my computer?

Also, which Nvidia drivers are the best? and where do i get these drivers from?

    14k/15k requires a X9000 @3ghz+

Apparently some 176 drivers gives higher CPU score, but 18x ones gives more sm score. If your looking for real game performance, get 185.85. If you just want to benchmark, use the older driver. GPU drivers:

You should get about 500 higher with some tweaks. The GPUs can be overclocked for higher score. But be very careful when doing that, you can potentially fry them. If higher score means that much though, try OC'ing it via nvidia system tool. The max for your card is about 650/950/1550. Download it here:

I wonder if we overclocked the 9800MGT and blew the system, Since Dell discountiuned the XPS M1730. Would they replace our rig with the new allpowerful M17x with Dual 280MGTX. LOL!!!!!!!!! I'm just dreaming!!!!!!!!!

Dell and Alienware are 2 different companies. Why in the world would they want to cover each others warranty.

Just hope Dell makes a replaceable system for M1730, or we will get stuck w/ XPS studio replacements once they run out of parts for M1730.
