    Hi there,

I tried google, but it seems the only problem with the fan is "not ramping up", so I decided to post in here:

Whenever I put heavy work on my machine (rendering images for example, or gaming) The laptop is getting pretty warm and starts throttleing. For example Civ 5 running at ~15fps with medium settings on 1300x768 something resolution. And I think the problem might be, that the fan just keeps sitting in... I dont know stage 2 or something.

I mean I got the XPS for about 6 month know and I barely recognize 3 Fan speeds.
    1 - fan is off
2 - fan is running really really quiet (nearly cant hear it)
3 - fan is running medium (noticeable but not disturbing)

and thats it. I think when I got the machine in the beginning sometime the fan would ramp up like an airplane, which is okay, if its needed (otherwise I just put in a powerprofile to throttle cpu/gpu myself or use MSI Afterburner or sth). Maybe its kind of my fault, because I recently updated BIOS and Thermals....

Just for the info: Even if I use "Performance" in Energy, with active Cooling etc fans will stay at medium or sth and CPU/GPU will throttle down and heat up to 90°C...

    Anyone knows something about that?
    Thanks.

    Edit:

I ran the 3dmark11 test two times with HWINFO logging (1x performance 690points, 1x batterysaving 1200points - higher result?!?)... and I could only get to 1200points... I think there might be something wrong with my GPU or cooling or I dont know... I will attach the CSV files from the HWINFO Logging.
