Hello everyone!
So, just last night, I discovered there was a new BIOS update (A07). The updater unfortunately stopped working at 62%. The cooling fans were running full tilt, as per usual, but the laptop became completely unresponsive.
I left it alone for about an hour, hoping it would sort itself out. Eventually, I pulled the plug and let it run on battery. When I woke up this morning, everything was as expected...the laptop was off, and no refuses to even power on. Best part? My warranty expired only 10 days ago! Wouldn't you know it? lol
Anyway, anybody out there have any idea on a DIY method for unbricking this thing? I have a friend that runs a PC repair shop, so if all else fails, I'll turn it over to them. However, I would like to be able to fix this myself.
Any and all help would be appreciated!

Contact Dell support. Although your warranty has expired, in my experience, they're one of the best companies at handling such just-out-of-warranty situations if you're kind and explain your plight to them honestly.

So...I contacted Dell support, and they were initially unwilling to do anything for me. I then purchased a warranty extension and suddenly they were willing to fix it. Oh well...warranty is still far less expensive than the repair would have been, and I'm covered for two additional years.
Since the motherboard replacement, I'm encountering an issue where the system refuses to sleep, or rather will not resume from sleep. Closing the lid, or selecting "sleep" from the start menu, appears to put the system to sleep. However, the only way to get the machine to come back on is to unplug it from the charger, and press the power button for several seconds (count of ten), before it will cold boot.
I seem to recall it behaving in a similar way when I first got it, but I can't recall what the fix was. I've disabled Rapid Start and Smart Connect, as well as uninstalled the respective applications from Windows. Still no joy. Any suggestions? -
Problem solved. Updating both Intel HD4600 and Nvidia 750M drivers with the newest version from each vendor's site fixed my sleep issue.
