I don't see it at Dell Support, they've got 1.6.1

Yea - which is why I posted. I am on the windows "fast-ring" preview version, so would expect other folks to get it pushed to them during Mays patch Tuesday (or when they upgrade to the spring creators edition).

You have driver updates enabled in Group Policy? When I have that enabled it just keeps installing a very old version of IGP driver from Dell, not even the latest Dell version. How do you prevent that?

Do BIOS updates come via WU now?
I thought removing Dell's autoupdate stuff was enough.
I don't like the idea at all because WU has become annoyingly persistent.
The last time I updated BIOS I've waited a couple of weeks, and yet there was trouble with it hehe

Sometimes BIOS and firmware updates are delivered via Windows Update. I suspect the criteria is due to the latest processor vulnerabilities. I had already installed 1.6.1 from Dell, and Windows Update pushed it to me again.
Firmware updates are also being delivered in some Linux distributions (Ubuntu for sure).

How do these BIOS updates through Windows Update work when BitLocker is enabled? When you do the BIOS update yourself, you should suspend BitLocker first. Does Windows Update do this automatically for you? Or do you potentially get locked out and need to enter the code in?

As far as the 1.7 update goes, I couldn’t find any info or other users that got the update. There is a 1.7 version for the 9560. That wouldn’t have been pushed to your machine by mistake, would it?

I don't think so - I suspect its part of the Spring creators update and there is some Specter related Windows changes which go hand in hand with some intel micro code.

I updated my 9550 to Windows 10 1803 through Windows Update last night, however it did not detect the 1.7 BIOS update. I went into Device Manager to check for the update manually, but the Firmware section isn't showing, even after showing hidden devices. I suspect this might be why my system isn't detecting the update, but why is the Firmware section not showing? I know it has been there before. My BIOS is currently on 1.6.1.

No BIOS update for me either. 1803 via Windows Update. Still on 1.6.1.

It's listed on Dell's 9550 support website now:
    http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/drivers/driversdetails?driverId=RYY62

    Fixes & Enhancements
    Enhancements:
    1. Improved the stability for the file transferring within pre-OS USB LAN connection
    2. Improved keyboard typing experience with high typing speed.

That 2nd one is odd. Looking fwd to an enhanced typing experience when I'm typing at high speeds...

For those of you who got the BIOS early via windows... Any issues?
