so what did you guys end up paying for your xps? cant get dell rep to do better than 1349 for the xps 15 9550, i7, 8gb ram, 256ssd, 1080p. seems high for these specs.
my old l502x xps 15 gave me so many issues with the fan, i dont know why i still want this so bad...
-
I'd call that decent personally. You are paying for the thinness of the system as well, that's just how the market is.
If you're a student, the Microsoft Store has some nice discounts, better than what I could get from Dell, so that's where my XPS came from. I bought mine in Canada, so there's no point comparing prices considering what the Canadian dollar is worth (or isn't) at the moment.
If there's one thing I gotta give credit to Dell for, it's for their redesign of the XPS series, both this gen and the last gen were designed pretty decently. Well, given that the XPS 15 and Precision 5510 share the same chassis, they couldn't really skimp on the design because of who they market the Precision to, it has to be able to handle continuous use. -
You can get a certified refurbished 9550 with identical specs on ebay in the 1100$ range. Free ship, no tax, and you still get a 1yr warranty.

i found a 9550 in the dell outlet. i7 6700, 512gb ssd, 16gb ram, fhd. certified refurbished. with coupon comes to 1,175. bah, i just passed it up and will wait. not sure how good a refurb is
-
I got a brand new sealed xps 15 9550 on ebay for a lot less than Dell's price (or anyone else's price for that matter) and it came with warranty until March 2017. Also I wouldn't hesitate to get refurbished if the price is right especially some refurbished units on ebay comes with next business day home service.

paid super cheap for my system, i7 1tb ssd 4k 16gb. $1100.
-
Paid usd2k for 4k 512gb ssd i7. But is 4 years pro Support and accidentally damage protection
-
For the i7, 512gb ssd, 16gb ram, 4K I got 15% off list price which I guess would make it about $1785 before tax. Bought it from the Microsoft store using a teacher discount (my wife is a teacher). She wasn't actually with me when I went there but I asked if they could apply the discount anyway without me having to come back with her and they did it.
-
I thought the best we could get was 10% ? How did you manage to get 15%?
-
I'm not sure, I thought it was 10% too. Maybe they messed up when they rang it up? I didn't ask any questions when I saw it, I could have just gotten lucky.

i just bought this same configuration from outlet for 1,165. that includes tax and shipping. decided that certified refurb may be ok.
my config shows the graphics card as nVidia GT 960M 4GB (N2R81). is that right? i thought it was only 2GB.Last edited: Feb 13, 2016 -
i bought the same config for about the same price
i might return it though if I don't like it as much as I think I will and the other laptops I've been looking at get good reviews -
May I know where did u get it from? Did you upgrade your warranty? How much was it
-
I got it from the Microsoft store. Paid $1785 before taxes ($2099 list price minus 15%). I also got their 2-year accident protection warranty for an additional $199 I believe.
-
1150$ + taxes.. i5 / 8gb / 1tb drive / 1080p. I bought a 950 pro for $270 though.
-
$1452 + tax for the i7/FHD/16 GB/512 SSD variant.
-
Did you buy it from microsoft store? How much % did you get
-
I bought it at dell.com (the FHD model is not available at the MS store anyway).
MRSP shows as $1,780 on the dell site so I guess that works out to an 18.5% discount. There was a 10% off XPS coupon recent which accounts for more than half of that - the rest was just asking the rep for a discount. -
Interesting do you know what is the coupon code is or where do i get this 10% off + additional 8.5% discount?
-
1750+taxes @ Microsoft Store.

The coupon is expired, but it was something like XPS10%OFF.
You can just call up and ask for discounts. Say you can't afford it. If it doesn't work, just try another rep. It didn't take me long to shave a few $100 off. -
how do I get emailed dell outlet coupons?

i7 16GB Ram, 4K, 512GB SSD - $1,200 refurb on Dell website.
-
Damn that's a good deal! Does it say about the battery?
-
What was the 'original' price on the refurb site? I think they have a similar setup for $1350 right now. There was a 30% off coupon a few weeks ago IIRC.
FYSA, currently they have 10% on the retail site. With 2% student/military.
i5/1tb/1080p/8gig is 1058
i7/256/1080p/8gig is 1278 -
In a similar vein, I see a deal on the Dell US business outlet for the 5510. I bought an Xeon/16GB/4k/256 for 1050 after calling to get a $500 off coupon applied. I saw an Xeon/16GB/4k/TB PCIe for 1460 by the same deal but decided to pass (I'm going to sell one of my XPS 15s and swap the hard drive into the Precision. The deal is still active until tonight:

Paid $1450 + tax for i7, 16GB RAM 512SSD 4k after price match with ASUS Zenbook Pro
-
That's really cheap. Is it refurbish? Bought in the US? How did u do it
-
It's new in the US, I called customer service and price match it with ASUS ZenBook Pro, but I must got lucky as the first one over chat doesn't want me to price match because of the specs written on amazon's website "Intel Skylake Core i7-6700HQ 2.6 GHz Quad-core CPU (turbo to 3.5GHz)" vs "6th Generation Intel Core i7-6700HQ Quad Core (6M Cache, up to 3.5 GHz)" on the dell website (2.6 GHz missing).
http://www.dell.com/learn/us/en/19/campaigns/price-match-guarantee -
Original price was $1,899 on Dell Outlet. It's listed as $2,200 i think on Dell for new. I basically got $1K off.
-
Its the 6 Cell big one. Yeah, killer deal. Should arrive tomorrow.
-
can any buy one and send me spain?
-
Interesting! Could you link me the link you got on amazon's website which you've gotten as they're so many
I tried to chat with one of dell's sales rep. He only said that they could only price match XPS with apple productsLast edited: Mar 10, 2016 -
I am looking for 5510. Does anyone see a good price for 4k version?
-
Like what I said, I might just got lucky, try calling them maybe you will get lucky too, I spent 45 minutes on the phone trying to price match this, chat might not help based on my first attempt.
