I installed the synaptics driver for the touchpad with the hopes of restricting the tracking zone to exclude the actual buttons themselves at the bottom. I want to be able to rest my finger on the left-click without it interfering with my tracking.

I can't seem to find the settings to allow me to accomplish this. Has anyone had any luck in restricting the tracking zone such that the area at the bottom does not move the cursor?

not 100% sure but you should try and install the mouse driver for the 9530 as that has that setting. It should/could/may take that driver now synaptics are installed even if you have to go about it via a manual install from extracted drivers?

Unless they have a dead zone on the current driver you put on?
