    Hello

I was just configuring my "dream" XPS M1530 on the Dell UK site and two options I've normally not seen on there appeared. I have seen them on the US site, just not the UK one.

For one thing, I was offered a sound card for installation, notably an "Integrated Sound Blaster Audigy Advanced HD Audio" and I also had the choice of selecting a "resource cd". I have never been offered these things before. Am I being swindled into thinking this is some sort of 'special offer'- I have revisited the Dell UK site to see if it kept offering these individual items, and they are no longer available on there. The Sound Blaster was charged at an extra £50.

Oh. Finally, I know this is slightly off topic, but is there a big performance difference between the T8100 and the T8300? I will be using this for some gaming (recent/older games ie the sims 2, red alert 3 etc)...?

Dells website is a bit funny at times, I know with the Irish one they sometimes have those options and sometimes don't.

You get the resource cd anyway (its more of a requirement than an option)

I wouldn't bother with the audio option, I don't think anybody does - its definitely not worth the money (its actually only a piece of software)

As regards the cpu speed difference - it really depends on what you intend to do with the laptop. If you only want to watch dvds, browse the internet, and play oldish games then no, you would not see any difference.

If you however are the sort that rips dvds (encoding etc.) and you wan't to play new games then the extra speed would help.
