When I have it plugged in and power on I'm getting some kind of very light but noticeable electrical shock/feedback through the palm rest area. It's most noticeable there but can be felt almost everywhere. The only place I can't feel it at all is on the bezel of the LCD panel.

Running on battery it stops or if I'm plugged in and have the power off it doesn't do it but, soon as I turn it on again it comes back. I've tried several different outlets and surge protectors but nothing so far makes a difference. There are other laptops plugged in around me and they are not having this problem. Anyone have a clue what this could be and/or what I can do to fix it?

    Thanks,
    Cap

hey Cap, I'm having exactly the same issue with my L702x. I'm going to call Dell to find out what's up. After 20 hours of troubleshooting, they'll probably tell me it's my motherboard

Hi Andyguk. Turns out, it is possible to have more than one bad surge protector at a time. :D Although I tried different outlets with surge protectors, in my haste to figure out what was the problem I didn't try a new surge protector nor did I even try plugging into the surge protector where other laptops were plugged in. Had I done that I would have figured it out sooner. So much for my trouble shooting.

Anyway, a new surge protector fixed my problem. It was a strange thing though, feeling what seemed like electric static sensations almost everywhere on my laptop. I'm okay, except for a short jerky thing going on in my left shoulder every now and then. :D Just kidding. Hope you get your problem fixed.

haha well I use an old extension lead sometimes and that seemed to be the culprit. If I plugged the adaptor into the wall direct, I got no electrical feedback from the palm rest. What a wierd sensation that was

anyway I found a bit of info on it here
