    Dear all experts and technicians,
    I have a new XPS.
All things seem well, but when I boot the machine, I can not see the bios and XPS logo. The default output seem to be the HDMI.
After setting in windows(it need some time to warm up, I try it many times), it seems normal.
Bad news is that it will loss the setting after poweroff about 2 or 3 hours.
So everytime I boot up, I have to turn on my external monitor.
Is there anything to setup the default output screen?
    Thanks for your any help!

    regards,

The simple answer would be to unplug the HDMI cable from the machine before booting and then plug it in after the system boots. I've noticed that some HDMI screens take a while to detect a signal and so you don't get to see the BIOS and such. If you need to get in the BIOS, just unplug the monitor.

    I have Nvidia 540M + Intel HD3000
If I enable both device, and I use AC adapter.
    The default output is HDMI.
    Is this correct?

After I disable Nvidia 540M, I can see the XPS logo and bootup dialog.

Where are you setting the default output? If in BIOS, yea that should work, but again, I've seen some iffy results on HDMI screens with BIOSes on some desktops.
