    Hello.

*(This is a copy that I wrote on Dell forums, but I make it here aswell to see what replies I get.)

I have a XPS L502X that the fan is not working correct on. Using the diagnostic tool I can get this error message.

    Error Code: 3700:011B

Msg: PROCESSOR_FAN - The fan speed is incorrect.

When running the test it start to set the fan speed to high, the fan speed is reported as 0.

When starting the computer the fan is not speeding up (perhaps it never have), on other laptops I'm under the inpression that it speeds up the fan to slow it down/turn it of after a few seconds.

The fans start after awhile though. The speed of the fan is going up and down, not to to a complete hault it is on but at variable speeds. Also after it once have started it will never turn off regardless of the settings I use in power management.

Stress testing the computer show high temp 94C/201F. The CPU clocks down after awhile (c:a 70%) and the temperature goes down to 85C/185F. It have also done a complete shutdown during this test. The fan speed is varies withing the same range regardless of the temperature, once the fan have started.

Doing a diagnostic test show no other errors than the one I mentioned first.

Another thing that I find to behave wrong is that the mouse can not be turned off. Using FN+F3 only switches the led on/off.

I have had the fan and palmrest(for mouse pad) replaced within the last 21 days.
