Just got it two days ago. Been busy setting it up. First impressions:
I like the machine except that it is quite heavy (2.6 kg which is the same as my previous E6500 without battery but this one cannot remove battery) and the keybord is unnecessary small. There are plenty of spaces around why put such a dense keyboard? There are no pgup/pgdn/home/end keys.
Display is good, don't notice so-called 'fine grid lines'.
May post further when I discover more.

I'm squeezing every bit of battery juice from my L521X... It was just completely dry -- Cannot switch on at all.
Here is the usage: They are all normal usages, no extreme applications running:
ON 11:33pm-0:04am, mainly made a backup with Acronis. 31m
    OFF 0.04am-7:42am
    ON 7:42-8:19, suring net, 37m
    SLEEP 8:19-8:42
    ON 8:42-9:19, 37m
    SLEEP 9:19-9:48
    ON 9:48-12:48pm, 3h
    SLEEP 12:48pm-2:10pm
ON 2:10pm-2:52pm, 42m. During this period it automatically went to sleep and hibernated. I switched it on anyway until it lost power and couldn't switch on. One thing amaing is that the battery stayed at '0 remaining' for about 15 minutes...
All above ON time adds up to 31+37+37+3h+42=5h27m. Mmmm, just so so I would say. They were just normal office use, no video playing, no game, no CPU intensive tasks.

Yeah, i wish it had a more normal keyboard too, but I'm getting accustomed to it.

Dell dropped the ball on their keyboard design. They copied the MBP on the layout, but tried to evade criticisms of mimicry by moving the speakers under the unit, thereby leaving so much (too much) dead space on either side of the keyboard, where the page-up/down etc. keys should have remained. The 15's keyboard and touchpad is exactly the same size as the 14's -- and that's the proof of Dell's turn for greed. They simply wanted "one size fits all" parts and got it at their cheapness and then overcharged the customer for a lackluster device. Pity. :(
