    Hi all,
I'm trying to boot from a DVD on the Dell XPS L702X, but can't find any option at boot-time to enter the bios or choose a boot device. Any ideas how to get ino the bios on this?

I have "Press F2 for setup" and "Press F8 for boot options", but they're both related to windows 7 restore options and there's no sign of bios/boot devices.

    Thanks for reading.

F2 should be it. What exactly do you mean by "restore options"? And do they bring up different screens, or do they bring up the same thing?

F2 should take you to the BIOS setup screens. Try this, with the machine powered off, start tapping the F2 key at a rate of perhaps two times per second, then power it on while still tapping. Keep tapping until you either get into BIOS or see something else. If you don't get into BIOS, there's something wrong with your laptop.

I should probably mention that you should *not* be holding down any keys while tapping F2, no Alt or Fn or Ctrl, etc.

It is under F2 for sure, possibly under one of the sub-pages, but it IS there.

I have a L501x and for me its F2 to bios and F12 for boot options. maybe you can try that / try other F keys.
