    Well it seems my XPS M1210 is dead (it was the motherboard)

    luckily I bought the 4 year warranty with it .. but it seems that they don't have parts in Japan as it's been over 2 weeks awaiting spares

    If Dell offer a replacement what are they likely to offer ? ..

    Have they (Dell) not kept you informed on your repair?
    If not this is very slack indeed.
    All jokes aside I hope things work out quick for you, as it's not very nice paying for something and not getting the service you expect.
